Ecce embodies a daily ritual of painting guided by a distinct set of parameters. Utilizing a set of predetermined rules situated within the theories of Structuralism and Formalism, I explore the possibilities of object, spatial, and color relationships. The grid becomes a visible structure within the work and functions as a repeatable and unifying element. The paintings are to be read slowly and in a contemplative mode so that the viewer can experience the object as well as its presence.
